Welcome to Inner Room Somatic Therapy

I provide professional counseling and psychotherapy, in-person in Eugene and by online video (telehealth) throughout Oregon.

I work primarily within the framework of Somatic Experiencing (R), a gentle, naturalistic approach to supporting nervous system regulation, healing the effects of trauma and stress, and restoring balance to body, mind and spirit. I also have comprehensive  training in the Hakomi Method, which emphasizes working in a special state of receptive and curious mindfulness. Hakomi is rooted in principles of unity, organicity, body-mind-spirit holism, mindfulness and non-violence.

In my private practice, I accept cash payment (typically using a credit card), most Oregon Health Plan (OHP) policies (e.g. Open Card, Trillium OHP, CareOregon/HealthShare etc), and I can take Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards. If you have been in a motor vehicle accident and are experiencing post traumatic stress related to the accident, your automobile insurance policy may cover treatment.  I do not accept any commercial or employer provided health insurance plans in my private practice.

In addition to my private practice, I am an employee at Options Counseling and Family Services. Seeing me through Options is the best choice for clients who have an insurance policy that I can't take in my private practice, including Pacificsource Community Solutions (OHP) or commercial plans, as well as for clients who would benefit from the additional services Options offers such as crisis services, case management, family services, or medication support with licensed prescribers.

Schedule and Locations: Mondays are the primary day dedicated to my private practice clients, from my office at 840 Lawrence Street in Eugene. I am available at Options Tuesday through Friday, located at 10th and Mill in Eugene.

Getting in touch and how to schedule with me: If you are interested in working together, please email me at christo@innerroom.net. Please briefly introduce yourself and indicate your schedule availability and what insurance you have. You can view my available private practice appointments through the calendar link on this website.

If my private practice is the best fit, I'll invite you to schedule a free 15-20 minute consultation where you can meet me and clarify if I am indeed the right therapist for you. Alternatively, if seeing me through Options is more appropriate, especially with insurance considerations, I will ask you to call the Options Eugene Clinic at 541-687-6983, tell our reception staff you specifically want to work with me, ask if I have current availability and if so, ask when my next 90 minute intake appointment is. If I don't have availability at Options when you call, we have a number of excellent therapists who you might also enjoy working with and who may be available. Just ask.
